Ten Years After the Dust Clouds

Ashes, debris and rubble
have been cleared,
leaving a hole in the skyline,
a hole in the ground
and
a hole in our hearts.

We can rebuild buildings
and erect memorials
for those that were lost,
but still,
there are holes
never to be filled.
