One Exit

Dried blood stains
are framed
in a chalk silhouette,
a Rorshack test
beneath
bullet holes
that climb
the wall like
Jacob’s ladder.

Small circles
and tiny flags mark
spent shell casings
scattered
like seeds
on the pavement.

The yellow police
tape defines
the border
in the blind alley.
