Velas que rasgam o vento
Nas vagas sentidas do tempo
Enfunadas ao céu se erguem
Lamentam o tempo que perdem
Velas salgadas no mar doce
A esperança espera por elas e trouxe
Os ventos que tanto desejam
Dão trabalho aos que as manejam
Velas santas prenhes de vento
Correm a barca no seu momento
Que sulcam na ira dos mares
Na mira de imensos olhares
Velas tristes, muito cansadas
Nos mastros estão penduradas
Esperam o vento que já não vem
Deixam a barca ao sabor do além
Velas brancas da cor da paz
Levam saudades escondidas atrás
Deixam lágrimas em cima do cais
Cheias de suspiros e muitos ais
Velas molhadas de beijos amorosos
Estão ao sol e aos ventos formosos
Matam saudades dos tempos ausentes
Dos amores que esperam contentes
Velas paradas já não navegam
Não rasgam os ventos onde estejam
Estão velhas e cansadas de velejar
Estão em terra com desejos de amar
