Entristece-me muito ver que deixas meu pai dessa maneira. Nossa casa é um inferno, e tu, nela, um diabo alegre, a privavas de parte de seu tédio. Mas passa bem; recebe este ducado. E Lanceloto, hás de ver hoje à ceia um convidado de teu novo amo: Lourenço. Entrega-lhe esta carta, pondo toda cautela nisso. Passa bem. Não desejara que meu pai me visse a conversar contigo.

Adeus; as lágrimas me substituem a língua. A mais bela das pagãs, a mais adorável judia! Se algum cristão não fizer alguma tratantagem para te pegar, estou redondamente enganado. Adeus; estas gotas idiotas me amolecem de alguma forma o espírito varonil. Adeus.
