ME QUEDO CON LO SIMPLE
No he visto la aurora boreal
ni la veré algún día;
ni veré desde altos picos
otros picos de cumbres nevadas;
ni demás asombros del mundo en el que vivo.
Me quedo con el milagro de la rosa
atravesada de rocío,
centinela de sus pétalos y olor.
Me quedo con su huella en mis ojos
herido el cristalino por su rojo punzó.
El tiempo ha hecho que advirtiera
que la simpleza, allí cerca de mi ser,
tiene igual o mayor mérito
que brillos buscados con ahínco
en la vanidad que nos circunda.
