Ouve um rio triste profundo
E quem ali banhar-se
Sentirias imundo
Por mais limpo que ficasse.

E o vale que o separava
Esse sim valia a pena

Se nadasse morreria
Para cruzar, ponte não tinha
Restava então, a ponte do coração...

E olhou com um nobre sentimento
Essa etapa cruzou...
Com um anjo a carrega-lo.
