Acknowledge My Purpose
When you overwater me,
leaves turn downward
to the earth that sustains.
Living organisms die away.
Dust color I turn,
death rots my roots.
Talk to me using words
of purpose.
I need a hint of care.
Describe the growth in detail.
Place me by a window
so the sun draws out
the beauty inside.
Beauty that your eyes
refuse to behold.
