Sky and the Rain

After months of drought
with lightning bout
and thunder bolt
with all its might
throughout the night
torrentially it poured
and continued to rain
without refrain
lashing out
day in and day out
smashing the bowers
flooding the rivers
pinching the stalls
and the shopping malls
massacring the mosquitoes
like tornadoes
disrupting the human lives
for days and nights:

And now the slaty sky
without being shy
with the cloudy companion
in the intermission
rumble and growl
uttering things foul
without pouring though
looks with wide eyes
what the men and their wives
are doing below.
