Spring is near

as snow melts away
soil thaws, becomes soft and moist
green sprouts welcome warmth

trees wait for their new wardrobes
buds ready to bloom

birds sing from limbs and branches
croon songs of courtship

sweet sounds of life fill the air
as Winter's grays fade

new colors emerge daily
nature born anew

promise, rebirth and wonder
as snow melts away
