Autumn Sky

It was the hour before the men awake
Trees were dreamy, drenched with rains
Drops hanging from boughs and leaves
The somber sky was full of cumulus,
As if a body of bright white cirrus
Passed through the black dark moulds;
Flocks of flying birds
Egrets or cranes in cadence
Speeding for winter homes
Between the rains in haste;
Paths were cleared as they flew past
Thinning the cumulo-nimbus
White cloud boats began to float
The sky was misty devoid of colours
Air was fragrant with early blooms,
A tender reminder to the earth
That the morning glow is indeed near.
