A lágrima desce
Na ausência que angustia
Nem há socorro na prece
Nem prece que alivia

Alegrias intermitentes
Pouco sentidas, de tão frias
Não guardadas pela mente
Dissipam-se pelos dias

Se regada, a roseira
Produz rosas
A vida inteira

Se lhe negada água doce
Perde a vida cor-de-rosa
E dorme como se morta fosse
