Jamais tudo se dirá dele;

Jamais o teremos puro

Na essência que nele há,

Enquanto formos imagem

Em forma de matéria...

Mas podemos ter o reflexo

Da imagem que dele fazemos!...

Podemos, mais que imagem dele,

Ter muito desse amor que nos toma

Por inteiro e nos faz sombra

D’ esse querer ser-se...

Amor esse não para nós que o temos,

Em parte, mas para parte sermos em

Outros que o têm por nós!...
