UM CAUSO
Um causo me contaram
outro dia lá no bar.
É verdade afirmaram,
mas difícil é acreditar.
Por este sertão a fora,
estórias de assombração,
nas banda que a gente mora
o povo conta de montão.
Caminhando rio acima,
na curva do bambuzal
onde morreu a menina,
fizeram o funeral.
A menina bem boazinha,
acharam que era santa.
Fizeram uma capelinha
e pintaram toda de branca.
E o povo reza e canta
ano vai e ano vem.
Mas, ela nunca foi santa
e nunca curou ninguém.
Nenhum milagre ela fez
e ninguém ela sarou.
Nem a minha embriaguez
tanta reza melhorou.
Dizem que sexta-feira,
costuma aparecer.
Mas, tudo isso é besteira
eu tô pagando pra ver.
