DE SUEÑOS Y VERBENAS

¿Cuándo la verbena recobró su brío?
¿Cuándo pudo saber que se habría su horizonte?
Más espacio al rojo, más distancia a brillos…
y a su cielo más encantamiento.

¿Cuándo liberó sus notas mi afónica voz?
Ya sin cantos de lágrimas y plena de aromas
y abierta en la espesura de aquel impenetrable
pudo elevarse de las raíces a tal cielo.

¿Cuándo los sueños de ese hombre fueron luz?
Al ver burladas a la maldad e injuria
de la envidia y el despecho que hostigaron,
brotó lo sublime en solio Eterno.

La estéril vanidad fue flor aurea de espinillo,
desgastados los años volvieron a ser niño
y el mortal ennoblecido descansó en su Dios,
complacido en la verbena y en sus sueños.
