SUBLIME INFERIORIDADE

Nos áureos tempos da bíblia,
Nos primórdios do cristianismo,
Lições tão preciosas
Explanadas com dinamismo.

Voz que clama no deserto
Eis João a proclamar:
"Arrependei-vos raça de víboras,
Para o reino de Deus herdar."

Se alimentava de mel silvestre e gafanhotos;
Sua vestimenta era de pelo;
Sua missão: revelar a Cristo,
Para o mundo conhecê-lo.

Quando ouviu falar de Cristo,
Demonstrou tanta humildade:
"Que ele cresça e eu diminua."
Sublime inferioridade!

Lindo poema mais lindo a proclamação de Joâo, primo de Cristo, entorno da qual vercejaste e a lição do verso final.
