Rechonchudo franciscano
Desenrolava um sermão;
E defronte por acaso
Lhe ficara um beberrão.

Tractava dos bens celestes,
Proferindo: «Ouvintes meus,
Que ditas, que immensa gloria
Para os justos guarda um Deus !

Falsos, momentâneos gostos
Ha n'este mundo mesquinho:
Mas no céo ha bens sem conto...»
Pergunta o bebado: «E vinho?»
