Eu não quero ser enterrado!
Quando me levar a negra dama
Que seja o dia festejado,
Que seja lançada uma chama
Sobre o meu caixão e cremado
Seja! Não me deitem na lama!
E não me metam num pote fechado
Que não o quero para final cama:
Deitem as minhas cinzas na terra
E, co'o meu nome, criem um jardim
Com as mais belas flores da serra.
E para se recordarem de mim
Percorram o país de Norte a Sul
Escutando o Danúbio Azul.
