I, Earth and America

To love you
I must separate
from the other two,

one the place
I never knew,
 homeland to
 generations that
 never knew I exist,
only was I conceived
and served a plate
of destiny,

second to my birthplace
is Earth and the splendor
of beauty it beholds,

Earth that makes you
what you appear as,
your conceited name
is gossip in my ears

You gave birth to
many states and
oceans deep and
wide follow alone,
the land of milk
and honey,

so why is my heart
cracked like
Liberty Bell?
Why is my
torch dim? is it
because my arms
have grown tired
of looking for freedom?

freedom of wars, poverty,
racism, religion, has your
pride gone to your head,
am I  supposed to be
proud to be a part of you?
how can I love you if
you can’t love back?
