Miss-Understood

From the start it was rocky,
every button pushed in was the
start of a dangerous mind game

For only a few days of chat
the conversations were an
intense stress to the nerves

Beaten to the punch with jabs,
left hooks and upper cuts,
I was finally knocked out

There was nothing else that could
be said to salvage self-esteem

To let go was heartbreaking,
it had to be done;
to keep my sanity

If the right words
were said; it could
have made a difference,
but my dictionary was
not the same as his
