Daydreaming In Art #11

Rain drops were tapping on the window, like a
tap dancers metal plates making rhythmic music.
It was going to be a foggy morning, there would
not be any sunlight glowing on her auburn hair, but
Oscar didn’t mind, he was going to make it up
to Jenna early .

His usual routine was always the same, and before
he even started to paint, he often opened the front door
to hear the sounds playing outdoors, as a child,
Oscar learnt that all creatures made certain sound
patterns and that gave him an idea of what kind of day it would be.

He held Jenna gently and placed her on the easel,
and began to prepare the palette with colors.
That morning he had many things to talk to her about.
He swore he was going to change, that his anger would
never again turn against her.

He began with her bruised face, like a physician caring
for a patient. On her forehead the colors did run
and mixed to form blotches. Gently he began to
move the brush, assuring her that it was not
going to hurt, but that her beauty will enhance.

After he finished he moved towards the left cheek,
then the right, her chin, her neck, he didn’t realize
the damage, her eyes were puffy and red ; the paint
on her lips had tinted the white in her eyes.
Jenna was pretty bruised but he was determined
to make things right.
