System of a Down, é uma banda de metal armeno-americana formada em Glendale, Califórnia em 1992. O grupo é conhecido pelas visões políticas e sociais que inserem nas letras de suas canções.
O System of a Down usa uma grande variedade de instrumentos, incluindo guitarra barítona, mandolins elétricos, cítaras, violões de doze cordas entre outros instrumentos asiáticos. Suas principais influências são as bandas mais antigas de rock alternativo, mas eles também foram influenciados pelo heavy metal, punk rock, jazz, fusion, música folk da Armênia, rock, rock clássico, blues e industrial.
