The Spell Duck

The magical mallard, an enchanted multi-colored feathered fowl,
appears in the twilight of your dreams.
With a flap of his wings you ride on his back, take flight
into the darkness of night  and rise with the raging winds on high,
across the starry sky, past the moon lit clouds you fly.
And then down you dive to the scared cratered lake, splashing waves,
creating a wake, as you paddle along, searching for a mystical shore. 
When you finally make land and are about place your feet onto
the beach’s sand, with a surprised shudder you open your eyes
and suddenly you realize that your reality is not all its quacked up to be. . .
