Enquanto fazes rodar o teu peão
Eu canto todos os dias, à desgarrada,
Com a minha boneca de trapo e botão
Pela noite dentro, até à madrugada.
O teu arco metálico roda no eixo
O teu peão de madeira roda no chão
A minha boneca mesmo sem ter eixo
Anda, canta, dança que mais não !
No centro dos olhos que não te vêem
Há brilho de um botão de quatro furos
Pregados com fio de lã, em pano de meia,
E cabelo de barba, de milhos escuros.
Nos pés e nas mãos não há dedos e anéis,
Mas, a minha boneca é bonita, como vês !
