O POVO NO PODER DA POESIA

Poesia pacificada, leve e pura
Escreverei no tempo que me resta
Sem saudade ou dor; sem amargura
Nada será triste ou será festa

Que não me tente a lábia da aventura
Doravante a minha estrada é reta
Apedregulhada, áspera e dura
Mas belas as flores e dourada a meta

Será o meu canto fácil de entender
Como chuva mansa; o fruto a nascer
Como sorrisos nos rostos contentes

Para que serve o poema obscuro
Frio e escondido atrás de um muro
E que sequer alegra a nossa gente?
