A COLHEITA


 
A lua acompanha a cavalgada
das mulas suarentas, bufantes,
que seguem de duas em parelha
num trote cadenciado, elegante
emplastradas de terra vermelha.

Elas trazem nos balaios a colheita
do milho que vingou em profusão
o peão segue ao longe na espreita
e ponteando uma moda no violão.

O peão conduz a tropa com amor
o ano todo faça chuva ou faça sol.
A tropa segue o caminho já de cor
e aguardam lá em frente do paiol

As mulas sabem que levam a ração
que as mantém na lida o ano inteiro.
Vai ter pamonha, canjica e  quentão,
pra todo mundo reunido no celeiro.
