Pelos cais de Lisboa,
passam todos os dias
Naus e caravelas,
Passam navios e fragatas,
Rumo à velha goa,
Lá no outro lado
Do mundo,
Cheios de coisa boa.

Pelos cais de Lisboa,
Especiarias e pimentas
Passam,
Seguindo para o norte
Desta Europa centenária.

Pelos cais de Lisboa,
Ervas e pingentes
Passam,
Para que nobres gentes
enriqueçam.
