Ao pensar nesse amor abstido,
que carrego por toda'uma vida,
fico triste, que amor tão sentido,
o que tenho por ti, ó querida.
Se não fosses de mim tão ausente,
quão seria este mundo tão lindo,
esquecer, não sei, por mais que'eu tente,
este amor, para mim, tão infindo.
mas o tempo, eu sei, vai passar,
e com'o tempo, sei, tudo se ajusta,
nesse tempo, eu vou te encontrar,
e no tempo, esperar, não me custa.
Teu amor, ora, como eu queria,
e a espera por ti, em mim cresce,
e'eu estou a pensar nesse dia,
pois quem ama assim, não esquece.
Amor abstido, porém não esquecido.
