Se abre y se cierra
Se abre a la vida
Se cierra a la ignorancia
Se cierra a la incertidumbre
Simboliza el agua y la Torah
Fuente de vida ambas
Simboliza a la madre en el parto
Simboliza a la madre en el embarazo
Se abre y se cierra
La letra mem es agua
Que purifica, limpia y se toma
La letra mem es la Torah
Que enseña, instruye y es maestra
Y transmite conocimientos a las nuevas generaciones
En todo lo añejo
Se hace perennemente nuevo
Se abre y se cierra
Se abre a los sedientos
Se cierra a los golosos
