Um Philosopho enfermou;
Não tinha mal de perigo,
Mas soffreu a medicina
Por agradar a um amigo.

Consentiu que receitasse
Hypocratico impostor,
E logo para um criado
Disse, brando, e sem tremor:

«Não deixes lá na botica
Esse amargo fructo do erro:
Inda tem mais serventia:
Supre os escriptos de enterro.»
