Theatre by the River Park
PROSE POETRY
My eyes could not believe the magic
A clapping of sea lions in concerto
Wave to wave to rhythm of the beats
Palm to palm smacking in syllables
were the sounds of music
Clapping to a dogs bark
Laughter in a child’s play
Cooing of a babes voice in a stroller
Echoes of the horns on the bridge
Sticks of grass blowing back and forth
Flag patting against the nearing nights air
My hair strands swaying like a fringe banner
Dragon kite tails crunch in the wind
The skirt I wore tickling my knees
An elders cane tapping on the boardwalk
And the whistling of my respiration
blowing out from my nostrils
Nature in perfect key and I the
one to capture the beauty in sync
All I did was step up to the plate
Place a quarter in the slot
Turn the knob and wait till it dropped down
and focus to get a clear view on the lens
The unexpected
A whole new world was waiting on me
I got a glimpse of the greatest show on earth
On the boardwalk overlooking the river
and my imagination let it happen
