Uttering of Freedom

Another year of my independence
I heard the beginnings last night
The fireworks with a ka-boooooommmm
lit up the celestial grounds

and my eyes saw it;

swaying in the air, like a feather
waving before my eyes was my Spirit
in the banner of freedom

my barren stripes bid its return
watered down with emotion my eyes,
the lump pressing against
my chest melted away by the
sensation of Independence

Spirit finds its purpose
the Founding Fathers rescue this weary flag

Stars now glistening touch my
ruby, brightens the purpose on
the Fourth of July; shining blue
skies against these stripes
outshine my colors

With emotion I touch the winds to
kiss the darkness a farewell-

the Bell of Freedom rings

the battle won

the Thirteen Colonies settle

" I hear the song bird sing its meaning".

Freedom and the free will to be free.

Old Glory still reins in victory
and those twinkling stars are
a torch of strength to the US of A.
