Daydreaming In Art #5

Recalling his childhood was a common thing for Oscar,
it gave the artist reason for living out his fantasy.

Deep-sea blue were the color of his eyes, at one time
he devoted hours of mixing colors; until finally
deciding his pick of perfect blue.

They were ordered and made to fit, and his
love for the sea was now in his eyes.

Doctors told the old man the damage was permanent,
he would never be the same, on the way home from
the hospital he’d listen to sounds and found that the
pitch to everything in his world was louder.
It was a game for him, testing sounds to see what they were.

All his women had to be perfect like him, soon he would
paint himself next to his bride and his life would be complete.

Oscar had wet the bed on the night he fell off, he blamed
the old man for not being home that night, there was
always something he could blame the old man for.

Jenna would be surprised when he would tell her the news;
she would be the only one to be close to him in art.

First he would have a drink, light his pipe and find the right words,
soon they would have a special night and perhaps his last piece
of art, he wanted to retire with Jenna.

Many thoughts passed his mind, the artist a daydreamer
of passion and desire glances at the antique clock, it
was 3am in the morning, and he was still awake; planning,
thinking, plotting, staring at the bride in darkness.

It had been days, the palate dry of paint, brushes still soaking,
his lady staring into space and he full of thoughts, too many
to devote time to his new bride.
