Similar Peregrinates

In another direction I'm driven
to find the milk and honey
I so yearn

I exit away from a no where land
with the persuassive touch
of a falcon's wings

Many years ago on a pleasant
afternoon flew beside me
spreading wings like a
carpet, touching the
hairs on my skin

It occurs to me that
this falcon and I
shared Peregrinate
likeness and after
so long I grasp
the meaning or

the resemblance of
the creatures path
juggled with my own

Coincidence tells me
that the touch of
the falcon's wings
was a lesson written
in the beginning pages
of a book to look back
and re-read its purpose.

Blinking of the eyes
is rapid and so was
the moment of
our first meeting

My eyes made contact
as its wings stretched
as if yawning, and
began to flutter
into a higher wind

Both our ups and downs
were common, the birds
free spirit and my own
search for purpose

I can see clearly now
the birds teaching,
when I'm down I look
up to see the both
of us in our separate
peregrinate flight
and I spread my arms
to reach for the stars.
