Encontro-me sempre falando
com amigos ausentes.

Encontro-me sempre
entre o instante e a morte.

Encontro-me sempre
com um livro em frente,
com um homem dolente,
e uma paisagem e a corrente,
e o sol incandescente,
e o sono, por fim, clemente,
E um pássaro e um menino e uma árvore, viventes.

E Deus persistentemente presente...
