Imergias soçobrando tua dor,
No tempo que não mais tinhas!
Lembranças vívidas meu amor!
Saudades que eram minhas!
...Nos meus lábios feneceu,
Uma lágrima, assim, dorida...
Eram meus os sonhos teus!
Eram tuas, as despedidas!

Na feral escuridão das noites,
As águas do Amazonas,
Bramiam em frêmitos açoites!

E bramindo adeuses, por mim!
Bramiam todas as ondas,
Que muito se despediam de ti!
