Tantos rios se cruzaram!
Caminhos, tantos… Contai-os…
Tantos olhos se falaram
De amores e ódios… Deixai-os
Tantas águas se encontraram
Puras e sujas… Olhai-as!
Tantas lágrimas derramaram;
Nos peitos: Matai-as;
Tantos passos se afastaram
No percorrer dos caminhos
Que aos rios se juntaram
Dos tantos, aos tantos chegaram
Com marés e remoinhos
Erguidos nas talhas, onde se deitaram.
