A CORUJA E O RATÃO



 
O galo canta rouco por detrás da velha casa,
o burro se recosta e se coça na mangueira.
A galinha carijó acomoda os ovos sob a asa,
o cachorro bom vigia já está livre da coleira.

É nesta hora que as galinhas vão dormir.
O ratão passa furtivo por debaixo da porta.
Ele traçou sua rota e sabe para aonde ir.
A coruja aparenta estar alheia  e absorta.

A coruja é astuta e sempre está desperta.
Se ela tivesse com fome seria voo certeiro:
passaria facilmente pela porta semi aberta,
como a flecha sibilante de um ás arqueiro.

Ele pensa estar invisível nesta rota secreta.
A coruja que bica a lua pousada no mourão
põe a cabeça para trás desdenhando discreta
e assim, finge receio do tamanho do ratão.
