DEUS, Ó DEUS! AGORA ME RESPONDES

Aquele brilho estava prestes
a causar uma situação inigmática.
Então, eu vi os outros corpos celestes
numa atitude meramente estática.

Astros compondo o bordado brilhante
de delicados detalhes num azul infinito;
para onde Castro Alves num apelo retumbante
há dois mil anos mandou seu forte grito.

Deus, ó Deus! Agora tu me respondes,
mostrando a beleza da tua ação varrendo o céu.
Se é neste universo de cor e luzes que te escondes
não te vejo porque és a luz em meio ao fogaréu.
