A baiana do acarajé
Que antes apertava o cinto
E nadava contra a maré
Enfeitam-se hoje com seus belos brincos
Morando no seu chalé
Tomando um cálice de tinto
Com seu pufe debaixo dos pés
Adeus aos filhos famintos
Hoje tem sobra de café
Todos os seus filhos são de fato distintos
Graças ao trabalho dessa mulher
Que se orgulha do que faz, eu sinto.
Quando ela diz que é do acarajé.
