A última canção
Cantar não sabe o momento,
Lançar não sabe a corrente,
Amar não sabe o instante,
Sofrer não sabe o tormento.
Cantar não sabe a hora,
Viver não sabe a vida,
Sorver não sabe a fonte,
Comer não sabe o trigo,
Correr não sabe a estrada.
Chegar na madrugada,
Descer no arco-íris,
Fugir no pé-de-vento,
Vingar no pé-de-morro,
Crescer sem esperança.
O poeta mergulha nos dramas sociais abordando as questões das iniquidades de nosso tempo, especialmente o sofrimento das crianças - futuro do porvir da humanidade - abandonadas à própria sorte, nas ruas e esquinas de nossas cidades ditas civilizadas?

Ainda há muito o que fazer por nossas pobres e esquecidas crianças nas ruas,
como cantava Mercedes Sosa: hay un niño en la calle... uma triste situação que
persiste aqui no Brasil e em vários cantos do mundo.
