Um Sorriso na Despedida...

Dou-me adeus em feral despedida!
E vou-me, num todo, a sorrir!
E num todo sorriso nessa vida!
Não o sei se bem ou mal vivi!

E se vivi, não vivi as horas!
Nem os momentos, os mais felizes!
Só sei dizer que à morte, agora!
Tenho as horas por juízes...

E sorrio!...Inda que seja sem sorte!
Que o sorriso, companheiro!
É o que me acarinha nessa morte!

Toda senilidade é atroz nessa vida!
E a minha, infernal barqueiro!
Não o deixou de ser na despedida!
