A Barba
Não devia ter deixado a barba
Ela me deixa velho
Que bobagem!
O que me deixa velho é a mágoa retraída
Mesmo assim...abarba!
Ela me lembra cílios fechados
Lágrimas pingadas
Na áspera esteira de palha
Sim...vivo à sombra da barba
Ela me lembra mãos calejadas
Cabelos maltratados
Pela poeira das estradas
Não...não culpo a barba
Culpo-me por ter virado espectro
Por me esconder em cesto de palhas
É! Ela me lembra carnaúba molhada
A barba faz o homem severo
Às vezes o transforma em mendigo
Um pobre, um mártir, um ditador
Carente de afeto e amor
Sim...temo a longa barba
Sei que posso ficar preso a ela
Ela me lembra quadros antigos
Senhor! Estou virando senhor
