Dorme, criança, dorme

Dorme, criança, dorme,
Dorme que eu velarei;
A vida é vaga e informe,
O que não há é rei.
Dorme, criança, dorme,
Que também dormirei.
Bem sei que há grandes sombras
Sobre áleas de esquecer,
Que há passos sobre alfombras
De quem não quer viver;
Mas deixa tudo às sombras,
Vive de não querer.
