Ouço um som ao longe
Música entoada por anjos
Ela me fala em códigos
Para que eu tente decifrá-los

Estou aqui a ouvir com atenção
Cantos... Lamúrias enfim
Creio que não são anjos
São carpideiras que choram ao longe

Para que lá o homem agora inerte
Que encontrou seu fim não lamente
Pela partida de sua vida que o abandonou

Chegou só e partilhou sua vida
Momentos agora já esquecidos
Partiu só e nada deixou só seu rastro ficou

(carpideiras, mulheres pagas para
chorar em velórios no nordeste
brasileiro)
