O GATO

Numa porta escura de Coimbra,
Apreendi a cor de dois olhos azuis….
Apreendi a forma de uma sombra
Chorosa, espantada que nunca quis!

Ah, grandes olhos de noite suave,
Benza-os o criador por minha mão,
Percorrido no pescoço da canção
Eterna, cessante de uma ave….

Os meus olhos nos teus olhos, gemendo….
A minha alma na tua, temendo….
O meu sonho no teu andar egrégio!

Andavas só. Andavas no mundo só!
Como minha solidão te meteu dó!
Como meu chamar por ti te foi néscio!
