Ex-Boyfriend

All I ever wanted was

to lay down and feel the
grass tickle our backs
while we waited for the
first star to come out
from hiding to shroud
our intimate secrets

Sit underneath the boardwalk
covered in a beach blanket
our toes touching, belly
buttons bumping as we breathe
in the smell of the sea
encircling passionate moments

For us to skinny dip at the lake
while the sun spotlights an
sultry escapade

Invite cupid to sit on a half
moon; brushing his baby fat fingers
up and down the harp strings while
we kissed on the front porch and
take us on a heavenly love tour

living happily ever after in
a fairy tale romance.
