insinuating image of winter

on my back snowing
on the snow laying down words
between words revive the poem

quiet water becomes cloudy
sliding on stone shoulders my pain

the millipede instinct flooding my legs
split my fingers

people love me digging graves
and many others untold poems

I am
so far so helpless I cannot cry
I am the worst creature in the movie
filled with contrasts
swallowing my life

cigarette smoke shoos up into my chest
a burned tongue my childhood language

I swallow in silence my life
I still support my smile

in the morning I squeeze my dreams

I know how to get my feet through the rib cage
I know how to soften humiliation

I know that we grow inward

the poetry that stretches my fingers
towards heart smote life

I wash the woman who slept with her hands stuck
in my soul

I think some are quick shakes but why me
always me
why I always must play my role
must to hide to pretend

should I pay to cut my hair below the neck
