Mind Games

I looked to your face
      into your eyes
we kissed & embraced
     rolled with each other
groping, stroking, petting,
       and then we . . .
                       almost.

I couldn't, I shouldn't 
       frustration
You want more
            and so do I
but I can't,
             I won't
Yes and no,
         two-way guilt
                unfulfilled
not here, not now,
      but when
and
       then again . . .

I am too old to worry about age
        or have a wish list
                 for the past,
But I am reliving
         pubescent angst
whenever
         I gaze
                 upon you.
