Paper Thin Convictions

Paper thin convictions, to the turn of a new page
a new set of lines made of letters producing words
a language of beauty, so soothing and gentle upon the deaf ears
superficial lines explain it all
that sometimes I get tired of the negative addictions
where I lose sight and trapped within recollection
a state of mind where one can go blind
to all that is real, to all that is in view
stuck in a maze that was designed to only fail
no way out and only one way in
my sinful actions pass by the floating screen
displaying the wrongful actions made in disbelief
where constant failure roams within me
so I close my eyes and try to drift away
in attempt to escape this awful place

I then open my eyes to a whole new view
a new perspective, a new list of to do's
where nothing can stop me and my words hold the truth
meant to be shared with all who choose to see and to believe
a freewill choice, the freedom of speech
a blessing sent to a soul in suffer
a soul in search, a soul in need
that chosen poet
claims to be me
a self portrait image reflects off the glass
a halo now hovers the top of my head
it was a sign sent to me
a sign with a meaning

to
