Presença

Persegue-me um demônio...
E sua forma quimérica me espanta,
Provocando-me espasmos doridos,

Vejo-o no espelho, e meu rosto se contrai,
Tornando-se uma medonha careta.
Vezes passo sem dormir — pois ele está sempre a espreitar-me.

Orações faço — inúteis,
Falta-me fé, e ele sabe...
E traz consigo um cajado... de medo.

Agora ele está aqui, olhando-me com olhos fantasmais,
Lambendo os beiços incruentos,
E apontando com um dedo encarquilhado uma imagem...
Logo à minha frente.

Não posso continuar...
Descobri porque ele está aqui.
